SHANDI NICHELLE, FREEWELL FOUNDER TIP: CLEAN OUT YOUR BLOW DRYER ONCE A WEEK.

CLEAN OUT YOUR BLOW-DRYER FILTER ONCE A WEEK.

I call this one of my gangster tips. Small act BIG REWARD.  I had no idea so many women WERE NOT DOING THIS. The look on women's faces when I ask them if they do this is priceless, and I feel like a little fairy about to drop game-changing dust on them.

Blow Dryers produce heat, but in order to do this safely they need to also make sure the blow dryer doesn’t overheat. This is why blow dryers are open-ended on the back and have a little filter to keep things from getting in there to you know, not catch on fire.

Well, just like your house, you need to change your AC filter because it fills with dust and debris, and if you don’t, it can seriously hurt your AC system. Same with your Blow Dryer, it can’t get cool air circulation, so it can regulate the heat to a safe temperature, hence why your blow dryer gets TOO HOT. ( Read tip: to know if your Blow Dryer is too hot). This may be why you are so confused about why your hair looks dry or is damaged, but you have been doing ALL THE THINGS.

Your Blow Dryer may be slowly killing your hair. Well, no more! If you don’t own a Dyson that doesn’t have this issue, you have a filter that needs cleaning. When looking for a blow dryer, make sure you are looking for one that has an easy-access filter that can be removed and cleaned, and do that once a week.

Pro Tip: I love to use this handy comb to clean it.
